THE VOODOO SOUND STUDIO

20 Twenty-odd years ago when I started Voodoo Sound, It was obvious that the end was near for Huge multi-million dollar post-production studios. Computer-assisted editing and mixing was starting to become the norm, and with the internet slowly showing its endless possibilities, I decided to make Voodoo Sound more than just a side hustle in 2005 and built my first project studio. It was pretty simple, a Mac, an early edition of Pro Tools and a handful of SFX I bought with money I had saved for another purpose. But it was enough.

Today the studio boasts software I would have never even dreamed of back then, a SFX library that is so comprehensive I don't think I'll ever use them all, and production music (APRA and Royalty-free) at my fingertips. And for my Radio Imaging clients, a hard drive full of sounds, beds and artist IDs that I have squirrelled away over my 30-plus years of imaging radio stations (along with a few other surprises).

Just because it's a project studio doesn't mean you lose out on quality. I have created mixes in this room that have been used on every platform imaginable over the years, and I pride myself on the quality of the sound. Using a mix of professional outboard and in-the-box solutions, I am able to give you the "Big Studio" sound without the "Big Studio" budget.

To make life easier for you, I have created a "Virtual Studio" in every possible way. As a client you can "sit in" on a voice session from anywhere you can get an internet signal, you can log in and out during your booking to check on progress, request changes, or just keep an ear on what's going on. PLUS, we can connect with any Voice Artist anywhere on the planet, so suddenly your options when it comes to casting the perfect actor for the part, just became endless. Of course, you are always welcome to attend any session in person if you'd prefer.

It may or may not mean anything to you, but for the tech heads out there, here's a list of the main components of the Studio.

  • Mac Pro

  • Pro Tools

  • Adobe Audition (not my prefered choice but here if required)

  • Adobe Premier (Just in case)

As you can see I have invested a lot of time (and more than a few dollars) to ensure that your work is produced in a completely professional environment. I don't cut corners, and I don't risk my reputation by sending out work I am not completely happy with. I would challenge you to take up my current offer of a FREE 1/2 hour consult so you can tell us about your project and ask us any questions you may have, so you can make an informed decision about our ability to handle your project.
